2019 Georgetown Fair Dedication
CLIFF HUDDLESON
It is with tremendous pleasure and gratitude that the Georgetown FairAssociation dedicates our 2019 Fair to our friend and fellow Board member, Cliff Huddleson. Cliff is our foundation in planning activities which are in keeping with the guidelines supplied for Illinois fairs through the Illinois Bureau of County Fairs. Cliff’s knowledge of not only our fair but fairs and fair people throughout Illinois is one of the cornerstones upon which our fair is built each year.Cliff has been a driving force in our tractor pull for many years. He also is the chairman who procures “tent rental” for housing certain exhibits fair week. Cliff has been instrumental in our carnival negotiations throughout the years.Cliff has served our fair in leadership roles, having served as president from 1974-
79. Cliff has been the “head chef” for years for our Georgetown Fair Family Evening meals, as well as our ham and bean lunch on Saturday and our pork chop dinner on Sunday. Cliff and his staff have made these culinary events goodwill gestures in giving back to our fabulous patrons for all the things they do for our fair.Cliff is a vital cog in the Georgetown Fair machine. His knowledge of fairs in general plus his knowledge of our Georgetown Fair’s history is one of our greatest attributes. In addition, Cliff’s unassuming manner, his ready smile, his love of our fair and his friendship makes him a valued and respected member of the Georgetown Fair Family.It is with a sense of pride and appreciation that the 2019 Georgetown Fair is dedicated to Cliff Huddleson.

2019 Premium Book Dedication
BOB & Judy greer
The Georgetown Fair Association is proud to dedicate the 2019 Premium Book to Judy and Bob Greer.Judy served on the GeorgetownFair Board from 1983-2018. Judy was our president from 1999-2004. Judy and Bob were a driving force in procuring a state grant for the building of our office and BanquetCenter. They were instrumental in promoting our country music concerts for many years. Judy has also served in many vital capacities for our organization.Judy and Bob are totally committed to the GeorgetownFair. Judy and Bob care about the Georgetown Fair.They are an inseparable team who work the trenches to make our fair function.The Greers remain fair diplomats who present a positive image of our fair to everyone they meet.It is with great pride, pleasure and gratitude that the2019 Premium Book for the Georgetown Fair be dedicated to Judy and Bob Greer.
Phil Hummel Memorial Award – 2019 Recipient
Steve Sliva
Phil Hummel was a remarkable man who added professional expertise to his every task. His abilities, leadership and goal driven nature endeared Phil to all that knew him. His spirit endures in our hearts and his memory is invoked when each annual recipient is honored with his Memorial Award.The Georgetown Fair Association takes pride in presenting Steve Sliva the 2019 Phil Hummel Award.
Steve became a director first in 1984-87 and joined us again in1991 to the present. Like Phil, Steve served as a teacher and principal in the Georgetown-Ridge Farm Schools, as well as a coach. He has been involved with many community and school organizations over the years.As a Director, Steve wears many hats! He is in charge of the the independent midway. This entails working with the concessionaires and finding a spot for them and helping them setup.
He's instrumental force on the program committee, bringing new ideas to the table for entertainment for the “fairgoer” to enjoy! On many occasions, Steve is found behind the scenes helping in any and all areas where help is needed.Steve is a goodwill ambassador in representing the GeorgetownFair. Steve has many personal contacts across a wide variety of people and organizations. Our fair can always count on his good nature and willingness to “jump in” and lend a helping hand! We are proud to name our friend Steve Sliva the Phil HummelAward recipient for 2019
